About Indian Overseas Bank
Indian Overseas Bank is a leading Public Sector Bank with headquarters in Chennai having geographical presence all over India and abroad. Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) was established in 1937, by Shri.M.Ct.M. Chidambaram Chettyar, a pioneer in many fields - Banking, Insurance and Industry. Eligibility Criteria:-
  • A candidate must be either i) a Citizen of India or ii) a subject of Nepal or iii) subject of Bhutan or iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda etc.
  • Educational qualification is differs for each posts.
  • Computer literacy shall be an essential qualification, which the candidate must either possess before or acquire within six months of joining the Bank.

Application Fee:-
  • The application fee is Rs. 50/- for SC/ST/PC and Rs.200/- for all Others (GEN/OBC).
  • Applicants are required to take a print out of blank Payment Receipt Challan available on bank’s website Here.
  • Before applying on-line, the candidate has to remit the application fee/ postage charge as applicable to the candidate with the filled up Payment Receipt Challan in any of Indian Overseas Bank’s branches by means of cash only.
  • Collect candidate’s copy of Payment Receipt Challan for the application fee / postage charge paid. Please ensure that the following information has been correctly entered (1) Branch Name & Code Number (2) Transaction ID (3) Date of deposit and amount.
  • Applications once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and application fee /postage charge once paid shall not be refunded or shall not be held in reserve for any other examination.

How To Apply
  • Candidates are required to apply only 'ON-LINE’ through Bank’s website. No other means/mode of application will be acceptable.
  • Candidates are required to have a valid personal e-mail ID. It should be kept active for the duration of this recruitment process.
  • Scan his/ her photograph and signature as per the guidelines given at the end of the advertisement.
  • Carefully fill in the necessary details in the online application Form at the appropriate places and submit the same Online.

Selection Procedure:-
  • Eligible candidates will be considered for selection process for the post code 01 to 07 and 10 to 14 as under Group Discussion and/ or an Interview.
  • Eligible candidates will be considered for selection process for the post code 08 and 09 as under a brief written test on the day of the interview followed by a Group Discussion and/or an Interview.
  • Eligible candidates will be considered for selection process for the post code 15 as under a written Test and Interview.
  • The Interview for all posts will carry 50 Marks. Minimum qualifying marks in the interview will be 22.50 marks for General Category and 20.00 marks for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged Candidates.
  • Final selection for the post codes 01 - 07 and 10-14 will be made on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the Group Discussion and/ or Interview and will be strictly according to the merit ranking and for the post codes 08 and 09 will be made strictly according to the merit ranking on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the brief written test conducted on the day of the interview and Group Discussion and/ or Interview and for Post Code 15will be made on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination & Interview and will be strictly according to the merit ranking.
